The 2024 Bacta Ball was held on the 28th of June 2024 at the picturesque Forest of Arden Hotel. There was no better way to celebrate 50 years of Bacta.

Organised by SX Leisure’s very own Steve Hawkins, the event was once again a resounding success. £20,000 was raised throughout the evening for the Bacta Charitable Trust. 

Unlike the recent Bacta Golf Day, the evening was graced with fantastic warm weather, perfect for the outdoor drinks reception. Guests from across the Gaming and AV industry enjoyed a wonderful evening of charity, dining, entertainment and dancing.

Steve, who is also Chairman of the Bacta Charitable Trust, served as the host for the evening. Here is what he had to say about the evening’s celebrations:

“It really was a lovely evening once again and a great way to celebrate Bacta’s 50th anniversary. There are a lot of people I would like to thank – firstly Karen Cooke for all of her help in organising things. Then there are our Gold Sponsors – Reflex Gaming, Merkur Casino, Ask Global Solutions, and EAG – who contributed to the success of the event.”

“I would like to thank my daughter Jasmine Jade Photography who took all the pictures during the evening, Jo Fallon from Greene King and her daughter Molly who sold the raffle tickets and of course every single person who attended and looked so splendid!”

Following a delicious dinner, a night of entertainment commenced. Contributions to the fundraising efforts were helped along by fantastic crowd engagement keeping everyone entertained. Substantial donations were made following a spirited auction including an array of experiences and collectables. The raffle also contributed to the fundraising success.

The live band Sway put on an incredible show and kept the dancefloor filled well into the night.

“We are thrilled with the outcome of this year’s Summer Ball,” said Steve, “The generosity and support from everyone who attended are truly heartwarming. The funds raised will make a significant difference to the lives of many children through Rays of Sunshine and other charities we support.”
